A 3 anni dall’ultimo “Half of Where You Live” (2013, Ghostly International), Gold Panda finalmente rivela al mondo la notizia che tutti aspettavano da tempo: il 2016 sarà infatti l’anno del nuovo album a quanto pare!
“Good Luck and Do Your Best”, questo il nome dell’LP, uscirà ufficialmente il prossimo 27 Maggio via City Slang: al momento, oltre al davvero particolare artwork ed alla tracklist, è stato rivelato il primo singolo estratto, “Time Eater,” curato dall’artista visuale israeliano Ronni Shendar con footage videos girati a New York, Berlin, Cologne, Hong Kong e Las Vegas.
Gold Panda avrebbe registrato l’intero album a casa sua, in Chelmsford: mixato nello studio privato di Luke Abbott, sembrerebbe essere stato abbondantemente influenzato da un paio di viaggio che Derwin (questo il nome di battesimo di Gold Panda) avrebbe fatto nel 2014. Lo stesso titolo del nuovo album, “Good Luck and Do Your Best”, sarebbe stato ispirato da un viaggio in taxi in quel del Paese del Sol Levante:
“…As we got out, the Japanese taxi driver’s parting words to us as we left, were ‘good luck and do your best.’”
