Bene, quello che a tutti gli effetti sembrava il preludio qualcosa di più grande si dimostrato tale: tenetevi forte, Lone ritorna su R&S Con un nuovo album!
Il sesto LP dell’artista di Nottingham si chiamerà “Levitate”: dimenticatevi completamente le vibrazioni beats ed hip hop del precedente “Reality Testing”, le nove tracce di questo nuovo, attesissimo album sono un continuo riferimento alla cultura jungle / hardcore, tra amen breaks e bassi devastanti, il tutto abilmente avvolto in quella ricerca di suoni e melodie ormai diventato un vero marchio di fabbrica.
La storia intorno all’album, poi, è di quelle da raccontare: febbricitante a New York durante il tour dell’ultimo album, dopo 6 mesi di silenzio come produttore, pare che Matt abbia cominciato a sentire nel delirio alcuni suoni….
“It was pretty terrifying - I’d try to go to sleep and I’d be hearing these mad rave tunes form in my head. When i recovered i was left with all these ideas for fast, feverish tunes. Following that we went to LA and hung out with friends, driving round all day in the baking sun playing these jungle and hardcore edits - all the best bits from rare jungle tunes, spliced together… There was something that really seemed to fit hearing these ridiculously energetic tracks whilst speeding around LA under perfect blue skies, that was amazingly similar to the music I’d been dreaming up whilst in New York. I couldn’t wait to get home and start putting this together - I had a new theme.”
